Mirjam de Zeeuw made twenty four large-scale color photographs for the Centrum voor Verpleeghuiszorg (nursing home), De Poort. The photographs, which are distributed across seven floors, are of the interiors of other buildings as well as the interiors of other times. Each interior corresponds to the space in which the photo is hanging such as the doctor’s office, the conference room or the hair salon. With these photographs, Mirjam de Zeeuw, creates an analogy between the ‘original’ and the ‘reproduction’. Furthermore, she provides a link to similar interiors in the outside world and to the history of our (interior) culture.
