The new Mister Motley will explore this issue by focusing on language. Indeed artists cherish language and often use words to express images and vice versa. But experience has taught us that language is not always an appropriate means of communication, particularly in a world where people of different nationalities co-exist and communication breakdown is a common occurrence. With the work of artists like Marc Joseph, Marijn van Keij and Allen Ruppersberg, Mister Motley #15 will reveal how language can be endowed with new meaning.
