The Blob Pavilion at the Technical University of Eindhoven

In the past few years the TUE developed a technique for designing buildings that uses inflated elements of which digital models can be made. The TUE approached SKOR to find artists who could experiment with this new technique. Since it is SKOR’s desire to develop joint ventures between the fields of art and science, it willingly complied.
This resulted in a design competition in which students were each linked to an artist. This eventually resulted in the realization of a Blob, which was put into use in February 2005.
