OPEN 1-5

Since 2001 SKOR has periodically reported on the art projects it supervises in the magazine OPEN. The old format of OPEN was published twice a year and always focused on a SKOR project that bore an exemplary function. From the 4th issue the magazine will be more thematically organized and will include a new section ‘Activiteiten SKOR’ (SKOR activities) that will report on the progress of the foundation’s own projects. Until the end of 2003 the OPEN issues 1-5 were published in collaboration with Artimo.

As of 2004 OPEN changed from being a magazine wholly dedicated to SKOR’s projects to an independently published journal about visual art and the public domain. OPEN will be published according to a new formula with a broader perspective, an independent editorial office and a new layout. The journal will be published bi-annually by NAi Uitgevers with both a Dutch and an English edition.

For accounts of SKOR’s own projects, a new series of publications was developed under the title SKOR Kunstprojecten (SKOR’s Art Projects). Three issues have already been published: Kunst en ruimtelijke (ont)ordening/Art in environmental planning processes (part 1) about the deployment of art in processes of environmental composition, Kunst als medicijn/Art as medication (part 2) about art in public health organizations and Onderwijs, wetenschap en kunst/Education, science and art (part 3) about art in primary, secondary and higher education.
